Arunachal Governor Boosts Civil-Military Ties During Visit to Assam Army Formations

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd) concluded a two-day visit to key Indian Army formations in Assam. His visit, from June 11 to 13, focused on boosting civil-military coordination and regional development.

Strategic Discussions with Army Commanders

During the tour, Governor Parnaik held high-level meetings with Lt Gen Gambhir Singh, the General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps, and senior officers from the Red Horns Division and Blazing Sword Division.

Their talks focused on:

  • Nation-building efforts
  • Infrastructure development in border regions
  • Welfare of ex-servicemen
  • Advanced military training
  • Use of new technology for operational readiness

Tribute to Fallen Soldiers at Gajraj War Memorial

The Governor also visited the Gajraj War Memorial, where he paid respects to fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for peace and security in the region. He praised the dedication of the Indian Army in maintaining stability across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Focus on Border Security and Regional Development

The visit highlighted the importance of strong civil-military coordination in protecting India’s Northeastern borders. Governor Parnaik stressed that this synergy is vital for peace, security, and inclusive development in sensitive border areas.
