AP Hosts Key Seminar on Indo-Japan Economic Cooperation

The Embassy of Japan in India, in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government, the AP Economic Development Board, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), hosted a seminar on Investment, Infrastructure, People-to-People Exchange & Education in Vijayawada. This event provided a vital platform to strengthen Indo-Japan economic and cultural relations. It also encouraged new investment opportunities and industrial partnerships.

Japan Applauds Andhra Pradesh’s Investment-Friendly Policies

During the seminar, ONO Keiichi, Japan’s Ambassador to India and Bhutan, praised Andhra Pradesh for its efforts to enhance economic ties with Japan. He also highlighted Sri City’s role in attracting Japanese investments and fostering industrial growth.

Minister for Industries TG Bharath reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ease of doing business, industrial expansion, and deeper collaboration with Japan. He emphasized that the Japan Connect Policy has been instrumental in bringing Japanese enterprises to Andhra Pradesh.

Sri City: A Preferred Hub for Japanese Companies

Sri City Managing Director, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, pointed out that Sri City has become India’s second-largest Japanese township. Several leading Japanese firms have established cutting-edge manufacturing units in the region. Moreover, he stressed the importance of skill development, technology transfer, and sustainable industrialization. These initiatives have not only strengthened Indo-Japan business relations but also created significant employment opportunities.

The seminar concluded with a collective commitment to expanding investment collaborations, increasing people-to-people exchanges, and exploring new opportunities in education, infrastructure, and technology.
