Shooting Incident Outside AP Dhillon’s Home: Arrest Made, Suspect Fled to India

Canadian authorities have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a shooting incident that occurred outside the residence of singer AP Dhillon in September. The police have also issued a warrant for a second suspect, believed to have fled to India.

Details of the Incident

According to a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Abjeet Kingra was apprehended in Ontario on charges related to the reckless discharge of a firearm and arson. The incident took place on September 2, 2024, in the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, Colwood, where police discovered two vehicles ablaze and evidence of gunfire directed at a residence. Officers evacuated an occupant of the home, and the Colwood Fire Department responded to extinguish the vehicle fires.

On October 30, 2024, Kingra was arrested in Ontario and charged with discharging a firearm with intent and arson. He is scheduled to appear in court in Ontario today.

Search for Additional Suspect

Another suspect, 23-year-old Vikram Sharma, is currently wanted and believed to have escaped to India. An arrest warrant has been issued for Sharma, who is last known to be residing in Winnipeg. According to police, he is wanted for similar charges, including the discharge of a firearm with intent and arson. However, there is no available photograph of Sharma at this time.

Police Response

Superintendent Todd Preston, Officer in Charge of the West Shore RCMP, expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation, stating, “West Shore RCMP officers have been working diligently through this investigation, which has led to the identification of the suspects involved. We will continue to pursue this investigation and the outstanding suspect until they are located and arrested.”

Background of the Incident

The shooting incident occurred shortly after AP Dhillon released a music video featuring Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who has a known rivalry with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Following the incident, the gang claimed responsibility for the shootings and issued threats to Dhillon, cautioning him to “stay within his limits.” Two vehicles parked near the singer’s home were also set on fire during this violent episode.
