Pakistan Leader Warns India Over Bangladesh’s Sovereignty

Date:

Sharp Warning Issued by Pakistani Youth Leader

A senior youth leader from Pakistan’s ruling party has issued a strong warning to India, raising tensions in the region over Bangladesh’s sovereignty. Kamran Saeed Usmani, who leads the youth wing of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League, stated in a video message that any interference by New Delhi in Dhaka would trigger a response from Islamabad.

Usmani emphasized, “If India challenges Bangladesh’s autonomy or threatens its sovereignty, the people of Pakistan, our armed forces, and our missiles are not far away.”

Claims of Regional Conspiracies

Usmani further claimed that Muslim youth in Pakistan are increasingly alert to what he described as India’s strategies in the region. He suggested that these strategies take various forms, including:

  • Cutting off Bangladesh’s water resources

  • Creating internal conflicts among Muslims

  • Spreading sedition and political unrest

He also criticized the alleged imposition of India’s “Akhand Bharat” ideology on Bangladesh and vowed that Pakistan would resist any such attempts.

Bangladesh Seeks Closer Ties with Pakistan

Since taking office, Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus, has focused on enhancing relations with Pakistan. He highlighted the importance of strengthening trade, business, and cultural cooperation between the two countries. Yunus suggested increased youth exchanges and cultural programs to promote closer people-to-people ties.

Local Leaders Echo Concerns

Hasnat Abdullah, a leader of Bangladesh’s newly formed National Citizen Party (NCP), also issued a warning to India during a rally in Dhaka. Abdullah stated, “If India shelters forces that threaten Bangladesh’s sovereignty, human rights, or democratic processes, Bangladesh will take action.”

He further added, “Destabilizing Bangladesh could trigger resistance beyond our borders. Those sheltering destabilizing forces should be aware that Bangladesh will respond firmly.”

India’s Response

In response, India’s Ministry of External Affairs clarified its position, stating that it “completely rejects the false narratives promoted by extremist elements regarding recent events in Bangladesh.” The ministry expressed concern that the interim government in Bangladesh has not conducted a proper investigation or provided credible evidence to India regarding the incidents.
